The
Golden Dawn FAQ
Excellent Resource: A FAQ which
describes the historical Golden Dawn, and describes resources, books, and
its modern day offshoots.
The
Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn
A modern GD order practicing Thelema,
and using late-source materials. They appear fairly respectible, and have
a fairly rich collection of resources. It is not clear if they are affiliated
with the California order.
The
Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn - Int'l
A modern California-based GD order practicing
Thelema, and using late-source materials. They appear fairly respectible,
and have a fairly rich collection of resources. It is not clear if they
are affiliated with the Florida order.
Servants
of the Light
An order based in St-Helier Jersey,
founded in 1965. The order is well organized, credible, and respectible.
It was founded by W.E. Butler, who was follower of Dion Fortune, who originally
received occult instruction from the G.D. though she left the order over
a personal dispute with Moina Mathers.

The Equinox
The Online Text of The Equinox,
1909-1913. This was a fundamental source for 20th century occultism. It
was published, and while it is rare today, copies were not unreasonably
difficult to find at the time. This is an all text copy which is considerably
inferior to the original copy which appeared online.
Hermetic
Fellowship Resource Page
An incredibly rich set of resources,
including resources on Celtic Mythology, Grail Worship, and other traditional
fields. A great place to start research on occult or arcane subjects.
Napoleon's
Book of Fate
An occult manuscript purporting to have
been in the posession of the Emperor Napoleon. The accompanying text
is interesting.

Traditions
of Magic
Fascinating exhibit on "magic and its
practitioners in the Mediterranean basin and the Near East from the 1st
to the 7th centuries A.D." If you are looking for background sources for
occult items and practices, this is an excellent source!
Fictional Occult Practices - Lovecraft
Please note: H.P. Lovecraft aficionados
have a tendency to go to great lengths to assert (either unknowingly, or
in some cases deliberately) the historical veracity of the "Necronomicon."
If you are researching serious occult subjects here, please understand that
the Necronomicon did not exist (except perhaps to the extent that
the Lesser Key, Dee's work, and others influenced Lovecraft to make it up).
Necronomicon
Site
Includes a history of the Necronomicon
- it looks real, but a quick check of legitimate Dee resources establishes
it is not. It is stll a great resource site for games.
