Photographic References
The links below are all to sites which have some photographic resources pertaining to the 1920s. In some cases the site may also have material from other periods. Please remember that many of these images may be copyrighted.

Photographs from the Detroit Publishing Company

Although it only covers the period 1880-1920, the huge load and quality of the material should be of interest.

      Postcard Views of the Past
Charming old postcards. Many of these really belong in "The Gilded Era" as they were produced in the teens.
      Chevron Photo Gallery: 1920s
A photo gallery maintained by the Chevron Oil Company, showing old service stations and the like.  The 1920's saw the birth of the modern "service station."
      Smithsonian Photographic Services Home Page
This site adds information on a constant basis. Of interest now - Magic Lanterns Magic Mirrors - A Centennial Salute to Cinema. Also includes a function to Search and Retrieve Images From The Smithsonian Photographic Services Data Base.
      Minot North Dakota (1920s)
A series of pictures of a typical small town in America. This could be anywhere, including your game setting.
      Port Arthur Australia (1928)
Very much like the photos of Minot, only down under. Many of these photos could pass for anywhere touched by Western Culture.
Local History Photographs by Topic (Australia)
The Aussies seem very intrigued by the 1920s. Here are another excellent source of photo references.
      Postcards
Postcards, including 1920s buildings, Art Deco posters, and an attractive nude of Josephine Baker.
