Enochian Continued - 7

Working the Enochian System

What do you do with all these "names" we've derived....

The two primary things that one can "do" with the Enochian system are invoking the Angels of the Elemental Tablets, or exploring the Aethyrs.  We looked at Exploring the Aethyrs on the previous page

The more common experiment is invoking the Angels of the Elemental Tablets - it is also possible to travel to a "square" on the Elemental Tablet, Astrally.

Impedementia

There are several pieces of "temple furniture" which were used by Dee in his original work.

The Holy Twelvefold  Table is a wooden table, with a top measuring 35 7/8" x 36 1/4".  On the top is reproduced a set of sigils given in Dee's text.

The Seven Talismans are placed on the Holy Table.

The Holy Sevenfold Table or Sigillum Dei Aemeth is made of beeswax, and is about 9" in diameter and a half inch thick.  The Shew-stone into which the images of the angels are expected to appear, is rested on this, in the center of the Holy Twelvefold Table.  Four smaller versions rest under each of the feet of the table, to "insulate" it from the mundane world.

It is clear that members of the Golden Dawn undertook workings without the full "temple furniture" especially when skrying the Elemental Squares.
